The Human Resources Association of Greater Detroit (HRAGD) is dedicated to advancing the human resources profession by educating, supporting, and engaging practitioners in the Greater Metropolitan Detroit area.
As the one of the largest SHRM-affiliated chapters in Michigan, we provide our members the opportunity to enhance their professional skills and business knowledge through monthly chapter meetings, seminars and workshops, most of which are pre-designated for PHR, SPHR or GPHR recertification credits. We are pleased to include MoCA Total Rewards to our growing number of Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) which also includes HR Connects events, where you can enjoy social networking with other human resources practitioners or, if you prefer, you may network via HRAGD’s LinkedIn group. We encourage and support the communities we live and work in through community service events and support of local student chapters.
How Can Your Company Be Great If Your Leaders Aren't?
Research has consistently shown an organization’s success is linked to employee engagement; the more engaged the employees, the more productive and profitable the organization. But, the most frequently forgotten prime mover in creating an environment of engagement is the leader; the leader of each work team, each department, and each division. If all of these leaders are not creating an engaging environment, no matter what else you do, your people will not be engaged.

Pay It Forward: New Member in Transition Program
The new Pay It Forward program is designed to support HR professionals whose jobs have been impacted by the economy. Individuals gain the most value in belonging to an organization where they find personal connections, inspiration and leadership from others as they navigate the next path in their careers. With this new program, new members in transition can join HRAGD for $50. Existing members can assist individuals who would like to join HRAGD by giving a gift of $50 toward membership dues.
