The new Pay It Forward program is designed to support HR professionals whose jobs have been impacted by the economy. With this new program, new members in transition can join HRAGD at 50% of the new member rate which is $100, so the cost of membership becomes $50. We are reaching out to our current membership base to assist individuals who would like to join HRAGD by giving a gift of $50 toward membership dues. If you are in the fortunate position to be able to “pay it forward” and help another HR professional join HRAGD, you can become involved in this program. For new members who join HRAGD by accepting sponsorship, we are asking them to commit to “pay it forward” and sponsor another person in transition once they have re-entered the workforce. Your $50 will be applied to new members who qualify for the Pay It Forward New Membership program.

What is the Pay It Forward Program?

Existing members can assist individuals who would like to join HRAGD by giving a gift of $50 toward membership dues.
I am in job transition. How do I participate?
Contact the HRAGD Administrator, Toni Holmes, at tonih@ameritech.net or call her office at 248-478-6498. For more details on the program, visit our website at www.hragd.org. For new members who participate in this program by accepting sponsorship, we ask that you “pay it forward” and sponsor another person in transition once you re-enter the workforce.

How do I become a Sponsor?
Become a sponsor by contacting our Administrator Toni Holmes at tonih@ameritech.net or call her office at 248-478-6498. For more details on the program, visit our website at www.hragd.org. and log into the Members Only section.

How much can I contribute as a Sponsor?
The minimum gift is $50, half of the lowest new member rate. The option is available for current members (sponsors) wanting to gift more than $50. To become a sponsor, contact the HRAGD Administrator, Toni Holmes, at tonih@ameritech.net or call her office at 248-478-6498. Payment may be made via check or credit card.
Can I become a member or Sponsor through this program on-line?
Unfortunately, not at this time. We are exploring ways to automate this process.

Can Sponsors claim gifts as a tax deduction?
HRAGD is a nonprofit organization as designated under IRS section 501(c) (6), therefore your gift may be deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor for details.

If I am interested in sponsoring a member in transition through this program, can I request that my gift be allocated to a specific person?
No. All gifts will be allocated to one account and distributed on a first come first serve basis.
How do I know if my gift was assigned to a new member in transition through this program?
The HRAGD Administrator is responsible for managing the allocation of all gifts through this program. The HRAGD by-laws require regular audits of the chapter’s financial records.

Once I re-enter the workforce, what will the cost of membership be?
Once you re-enter the workforce, your new annual membership dues will increase to the regular membership rate. Membership dues expire one year from your enrollment date.

Who do I contact once I reenter the workforce?
Go to www.hragd.org and log onto the Members Only page then click, Update Profile. Update your profile with your new information.

How is this program different from the current Member in Transition program?
The current Member in Transition program is for current active members in transition and provides a discounted rate for renewing membership.

I am a current HRAGD member and in transition. My membership is due to expire. Can I participate in this program?
No, however there is a Member in Transition option for renewing members. Contact the HRAGD Administrator Toni Holmes at tonih@ameritech.net or call her office at 248-478-6498 for rates and to renew.

Do I have to be a member of HRAGD to be a Sponsor?
Yes, you are only able to participate in this program as a sponsor if you are a current member.

I am a student member. Are student members eligible to participate?
No, as the student member rate is already discounted or free if you are a member of SHRM.
